Job Summary

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking qualified candidates to fill an Information Technology, Corporate Storage Analyst position within the Information Management Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and support of IT Storage Services within a consolidated Entreprise IT environment.

  • Managing the recoverability and availability of IT systems by developing, implementing and enhancing sound system backup/recovery strategies and configurations for all IT platforms.
  • Managing IT storage systems by selecting, implementing and enhancing storage management tools and configurations.
  • Ensuring availability and integrity of CSIS enterprise storage systems and backup systems by managing and enhancing the associated IT platforms.
  • Determining and recommending future IT requirements by conducting storage capacity forecasts and storage trend analysis.
  • Acting as a resource person by recommending to the Head, the purchase of new hardware/software tools and packages.
  • Direct and assist other IT systems analysts by serving as a consultant with expertise in matters of IT system storage Service wide.
  • Achieving objectives by managing and leading IT projects to successful completion.
  • Assisting the Head with the preparation of budgets, training and annual plans and with the development of statements of work.

Education

Undergraduate degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Engineering or Technology) and four (4) years experience* or a College diploma (3 years) in an IT related field such as Computer Science, Engineering or Technology and five (5) years experience*.

Experience

The Candidate must demonstrate experience in the implementation and support of Network Based Storage infrastructure, and experience on LAN/WAN/SAN networked devices.

Canadian citizens eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.

Security Requirements

Candidates must have no criminal record, be one-year drug-free and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, an extensive verifiable background investigation covering the last 10 years, that includes credit and financial verifications, as well as a polygraph examination.

Language Requirements

Bilingual non-imperative (BBB).

Salary Range

From $70,770 to $86,120 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

CSIS National Headquarters, Ottawa, Ontario

Employment Conditions

One year term with the possibility of a permanent position.
