Job Summary

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking qualified candidates for positions as Telecommunication, Electronic & Computer Technologist.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Computer / Electronics / Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Community College diploma three (3) years in Electronic / Telecommunications and / or Computer Science Technology and two (2) years experience.

Experience

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

Wireless communications
Packet Switched Networks
Leased Carrier Communications
Computer Networking
Data and/or voice communications
Telephone switching systems/network
Network and teleprocessing systems
Computer network and information security
Computer system auditing and inspection (computer forensics)
Windows NT/2000/XP, Windows 2003 server, Unix, Linux, Vista
Fibre Optic wiring and connectivity
Novell
Web applications development
SAN systems

Additional Requirements

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence;
• Must possess good written and oral communications skills;
• Be amenable to some travel;
• Possess a good working knowledge of French and English;
• Be able to work well under pressure and with tight schedules;
• Be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
• And must also possess strong abilities related to teamwork.

Work environment (optional)

These positions also require flexibility, manual dexterity and a degree of physical fitness.

Security Requirements

Candidates must have no criminal record, must not have used illegal drugs in the last twelve (12) months and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a polygraph, a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications.

Salary Range

From $61,350 to $74,660 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location

CSIS Quebec Regional office - Montreal.
