Job Summary

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking Information Technology Security Analysts with experience in client / server and web technologies and with excellent interpersonal and communications skills to work in a team environment within the Internal Security Branch. The Information Technology Security Analysts are responsible for all aspects of the Information Technology Security program. The functions may involve the following:

• provide guidance and advice to employees and management on security related topics;
• prepare and/or review Statements of Sensitivity, IT security requirements, Threat Risk Assessments and Certification reports;
• plan, organize and conduct IT systems audits;
• conduct and participate in security related investigations;
• oversee communications security issues and conduct research into various security related technologies or policies;
• develop and present information technology security awareness material;
• develop and maintain security policies and procedures.

Education

Undergraduate degree in a related field such as IT-Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc. and four (4) years *related experience; or

Community College Diploma (3 year) in a related field such as IT-Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc. and five (5) years *related experience.

 * Any higher level of education could be recognized as related experience.

Related Experience

Experience working in the IT field in one or a combination of the following IT roles: Security Management or Administration, Technologist, System Development, and/or IT Support.

Experience

Candidates should demonstrate experience in communicating with employees and management; and external communication with Government departments, vendors, consulting firms, etc. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in writing status reports, briefing notes, presentations, etc.

Desirable Experience

Experience in writing threat risk assessments or certification and accreditation documents; experience in defining system security requirements for classified systems.

Security Requirements

Candidates must have no criminal record, must not have used illegal drugs in the last (12) twelve months and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a background investigation, a polygraph, a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications.

Language Requirements

Bilingual imperative (B/B/B)

Salary Range

$69,720 to $84,840 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
