Portable radio

This portable radio was quite common in its era, much like the portable headphone type radios/tape or disc players of today. Carrying it around in a public place did not attract attention. It was therefore an ideal place to conceal a small camera for taking surreptitious photos. This particular example has suffered some damage and the camera lens is more visible than when originally engineered. To get the shot, one had only to aim the lens and while appearing to change stations or adjust the volume, take a picture by pressing a discreetly placed switch.
